Philosophy Of Oris

Oris watches are purely mechanical and are marked out by their distinctive design as well as the red rotor, the symbol of Oris mechanicals.Over 100 years Oris has been making watches in Switzerland. Oris watches are also popular, as celebrities from Formula One, diving, jazz and aviation queue up to wear and support our unique creations.

Oris is one of a small handful of Swiss watch brands that makes only mechanical watches. A mechanical watch is a thing of beauty, designed according to principles that have been around for generations and will continue long into the future.

We’re proud of our long history and heritage – and we never forget it whenever we are developing new movements and new watch designs. An Oris watch is an item built to last and provide a lifetime of enjoyment.

ORIS BIG CROWN PROPILOT CALIBRE 114

The Oris Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 114 is the latest expression of Oris’s long-standing ties to aviation – it made its first pilot’s watch in the early 1910s – and also the first watch to carry the independent Swiss company’s innovative in-house developed Calibre 114, which features a 10-day power reserve, a non-linear power reserve indicator and a 24-hour second time zone.

Since it produced its first aviation watch in the 1930s, Oris has pioneered a number of innovations that have made it a favourite among pilots. Today, Oris sponsors some of the world’s most daring pilots, including Don Vito Wyprächtiger and the Swiss Air Racing Team, who wow the crowds at the world-famous Reno Air Races.

ORIS GREAT BARRIER REEF LIMITED EDITION III

The Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III is a high-performance diver’s watch and a symbol of Oris’s mission to clean up our oceans and bring change for the better. The Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III has been created in partnership with the Reef Restoration Foundation, a non-profit social enterprise founded in 2016.

In partnership with the foundation, Oris has created the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III, a diver’s watch based on the legendary Oris Aquis. The new model, limited to 2,000 pieces, has a gradient blue dial and an aqua blue ceramic insert in its uni-directional rotating diver’s bezel, recalling the colours of the reef waters.

Inside its 43.50 mm stainless steel case is an automatic movement that provides it with a small seconds and a circular date window. It’s water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres).
